It's really bitter at the bottom. Even worse than at the weekend. You have to carry far, downhill runs are impossible and for the forest it has to be high up and very light. 10 cm were added at higher altitudes.
Snow quality
Due to the high temperatures today, there was unfortunately a lot of fresh snow up to over 2000m. In contrast to yesterday ("Dust on Crust"), the old snow was moist and at least soft and grippy. Overall, however, the snow was too slow to be really good.
Risks
I can't confirm the LLB Bavaria for Berchtesgaden (3s from 1600m). There were certainly wind vanes and drifts in the higher elevations, but up to around 1900m the fresh snow is very wet and settled. The old snow underneath is quite compact, and wet snow slides may be an issue in steep terrain, but only small amounts overall.
Overall impression
Unfortunately, it's too warm to enjoy the fresh snow that was still dry yesterday. What's more, it's really not much. As it's raining up to about a fantastic million meters again today, I'm not expecting much from the coming cold front, so it's probably time to head for the higher mountains...
