Snow report Salzburger Land North, 03/05/2016
Spent the weekend on the Genneralm. Yesterday it was short and still usable snow, today cold and powder!

Snow condition
The ascent and descent to the Genneralm is continuous on the forest road except for one unbuckling. Overall, however, it's not much at the bottom. You can do a lot at the top, even without stone contact. Snow depths between 40 and 130 cm depending on exposure at approx. 1500m
Snow quality
Yesterday still good powder on the shady side, slushy on the sunny side, pressed in places exposed to the wind. Today fantastic, 10-15cm of powder on a soft base.
Risks
Rather relaxed. We've dug several profiles at different expos and heights in the last 2 days: The drift snow from yesterday has eased up a bit with the warm temperatures yesterday afternoon, but is still a bit tricky, especially in shaded areas. Otherwise, there is a weak visibility between old snow and fresh snow (the last 4 days), which we could only address with several Ct and Ect with great additional load and without break propagation. So sluffing was more of an issue on the steep slopes today.
Overall impression
Currently top touring conditions around the Genneralm. There could still be a little more snow, but rumor has it that the second half of March will be quite good
