Snow condition
In favorable areas you can start from about 1000m, but on the south side it is already snowy much further up. From 1400m on the north side there is often a lot of snow. At the very top it's partly blown off, but on the other hand sometimes there are also thick cornices.
Snow quality
Amazingly good in the middle areas! Soft, but above 1200m (midday) not slowing down and really fun. The waxing session and the fat poles and board paid off today, and above 1700m it was sometimes wind-pressed or meltingly hard.
Risks
Relatively far down (approx. 1400m) we kicked off a smaller board with wet and actually quite well-set drift snow. (See picture) It always comes off there and is also relatively small because it's flat afterwards, but the altitude surprised me. On the south side there are some big mouths and the sometimes huge cornices will also be coming down soon.
Overall impression
Very fine day, despite the somewhat complicated route and a few small, unexpected events.
We expected bad light and moderate snow. But it was super nice to ride and a lot of fun. Few people, although a few weird ones. (Climbing south-facing slopes with a risk of sliding snow through large cornices in warm foehn conditions is not so great now...)
I hope the warmth will gradually disappear again.
