Longer ski tour in the southern Hochkalter massif

Snow condition
Still enough snow on the tour. Start at approx. 1100 m and most of the time a west-facing ascent. There is still enough snow in the forest, but from around 2150 m it becomes scarce on the west side in the rockier terrain. The sun and wind are "doing a good job". On the north side, it still looks good as long as the wind doesn't expose anything. As some of the rocks on the west-facing summit slope are already exposed or only a few centimetres hidden under the snow cover, there are only 2 stars.
Snow quality
In the afternoon, shortly after 12 noon, firn appeared on the west side. It was great to ski and there were very few spots with windswept snow or ice. We then skied down through a north gully. The first few meters at the start were a bit windy, then fine powder all the way down to the valley. There was nothing to complain about that day.
Risks
Quite relaxed. In any case, pay attention to the diurnal cycle in sun exposures. The south föhn was still relaxed on the tour today and didn't blow anything away. You could see a thin layer of hoarfrost on the ascent.
Overall impression
Fine tour, fine snow, great weather, that's what makes touring fun.
