Snow condition

Well, bad for the time of the year.on the shady side it starts from about 1400m with extensive snow cover, i.e. you have to carry relatively far everywhere.on the sunny side is actually to forget.in the Karen there will still be something for a while, but it looks like the end of April/May in normal years.but there are still tours with clearly > 1000Hm descent possible.

Snow quality

Good. If you get it right, you get fine firn. I skied mostly on the NE side at about half past ten and it was pretty good. You could have skied a bit later, but at the bottom it was a mix of swamp, hard snow and brittle top, but at least it wasn't slow.

In this respect, one of the most relaxed tours in spring conditions for me this season. Very compact in the morning and easy to calculate thanks to the day's gradient.

Overall impression

Very nice day. Great weather at the top (cold in the valley due to the massive inversion), nothing going on and above all really nice firn at the top. Only the below-average amount of snow is a bit sad, compared to last year's really good spring (in an overall bad season) it's a lot worse this year.
