Exposition
Snow condition
Only just 2 more, it has torn away an incredible amount in just one week in the lower areas. Today I had to carry a good 300m and relatively far, bike should be with me wherever possible. Above 1700m, there's still an average of 1.5 m on the snow side. There is little left to the south.
Snow quality
Quite ok, without really being perfect. Above about 1700 m there is even very settled powder, but only if it's totally protected. Below that, lots of mixed snow. The snowpack has little cold reserve, on the east side there is only a very short period of hard capped slush. On the north side, however, there is nice firn in the middle layers and it's nice and soft for jumping around. At the bottom it's also icy in places, but that helps when sliding out.
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
Low with an increase to moderate from midday. A lot has already gone down on the south side, but I would still be careful there. It's more compact and stable on the shady side.
Avalanche activity
Altitude: 1700 m
Overall impression
Hard bought, but already very nice gully line, the ambience is incredible. Snow tw also ok and at least quick to slide out at the bottom. Unfortunately, the amount of snow is decreasing rapidly. I was in the corner a week ago, the difference is unbelievable. Let's hope for more next week!
