Snow report Salzburger Land North, 04/17/2015
Beautiful winter conditions in the high altitudes again

Overall impression
Snow condition
The north side starts at 1300 m. A bike is now very comfortable for the tours starting lower down. Fresh snow is relevant from around 1800 m. At higher altitudes it's a good 20 to 30 cm of fresh snow.
Snow quality
Amazingly good. The cold powder lies on a firny to wet-soft layer of old snow. Really good to ski. Tomorrow I'll probably take the fat slats.
Risks
Relatively relaxed at the bottom (except possibly on the south side on smooth ground). The old snow cover is deeply soaked all the way up. It was windy in some places at higher elevations, where drifting snow could play a role in some places.
Overall impression
Beautiful wintry day with good snow conditions. Hardly anyone out and some nice turns. Tw. the visibility could have been a bit better. Cold enough for it to be really fine tomorrow.
