Snow condition
It's slowly getting less and less even in the thickly covered areas, although you can occasionally still do things without carrying (like here from 1000m, but this is now the exception rather than the rule). In sheltered gullies and hollows, however, it should still be possible for a while.
Snow quality
If the timing is right and you stay out of the direct sun, then it firns up quite nicely in the morning (departure N side at 11:30 am). Unfortunately, the enjoyment was still limited because there was a lot of avalanche and ice debris lying around, and in the direct sun it immediately becomes bazzy.
Risks
Little snow in the morning. Everything compactly caked and rock-hard in the morning.
Overall impression
Beautiful weather, great views and lots of animal encounters.
Unfortunately, the descent was a little too rough for the third star. Nevertheless, a solid spring day.
A few more weeks should be good here...
