Snow condition

2 von 5 Sterne

Just about 2 stars, but definitely to be seen in the context of the snow conditions of the last few weeks. At the bottom, unfortunately, too little to live on, but too much to die on... At least you could make an early attack today (approx. 1100m), but you can only ski properly up to approx. 1400-1500m. Things are looking much better at the top now, even if there are a lot of sharks sticking out in places exposed to the wind.

Snow quality

3 von 5 Sterne

Above approx. 2100m really good pow on the shaded side, partly wind-affected (4-5*), below that up to approx. 1800m light cover, but not disturbing. (3*)At the bottom, at our early departure time, there was still heavy broken snow, but it softened up later. (1-2*)

Risks

Not very critical on our tour: crushed slush, windswept slush, heavily packed powder, sometimes changing on a small scale. Only a little drift snow at this altitude, but there were some large wet snow avalanches from yesterday. Tw. small loose snow discharges from very steep walls.

Overall impression

4 von 5 Sterne

Super weather, good partner, really good snow at the top, great visibility, white main ridge and little going on = top day, other routes (e.g. Hocheck) were extremely crowded today, let's see what the next week brings.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
