Snow condition
Still great for the time of year here, of course, but with the recent snowfall down below you have to know exactly where the old snow cover starts. 1200-1300m is good if the forest isn't too dense. In the sheltered areas from approx. 1600 m there is still a good 2 m. Starting high or on a bike is of course obligatory... There will still be something worthwhile going on for a while...
Snow quality
Very good. The fresh snow (between 10 and 30 cm) is slightly damp at the bottom, but quick and easy to smear. Colder further up, but sometimes a little more compact due to the wind. The old snow cover is soft and grippy.
Risks
The combination of old and new snow is not good at lower altitudes either, but only a little. Above the tree line it is definitely critical due to the strong wind and the considerable amounts of fresh snow. On the old snow layer, the bonded fresh snow is coming off quickly. Hardly any warming today (and probably until Wednesday). Absolute winter conditions.
Overall impression
If the visibility had been better, I would have awarded 4 stars again due to the snow.
But even then, the steeper summit slopes would probably have been a no-go. It's not easy up there.
Super fun in the forest! The winter temperatures, snow on the trees, etc. were also very pleasant.
Oh yes, and it was also very wet at the bottom... :)
