Snow condition
Great for the time of year, of course, but nothing works without carrying or biking. fresh snow from 1100m, but only from 1300-1400m a solid base on the shaded side. Yesterday/today we got another 20cm. With the 30-40 from the weekend, more things are now snowed in again, but further down you shouldn't be tempted to ski too deep.
Snow quality
Mega. Above about 1500m, 20 cm of cold blower with some fine sleet in it. Fantastic skiing, face contact throughout ;)The old snow cover underneath is compact but grippy. At the bottom, the fresh snow becomes damp, but in combination with the warm, damp old snow cover it's still great.
Risks
Less critical than on Monday, but I was only up to just below 2000m. The cold fresh snow is completely unbound - further up on a deep, soft layer, further down on a moist, warm and compact layer of old snow. Nevertheless, I would be rather defensive. Sluff is definitely an issue in steep terrain, possibly watch out for wet snow breaks in the lower forest.
Overall impression
Update on Monday. Even more awesome, especially because the visibility was better in the upper forest. From the tree line, however, it was total whiteroom.
The powder is great, certainly some of the best turns in this generally very good winter.
Unfortunately, it was only relatively short and the half hour of bushwhacking at the beginning wasn't any more pleasant due to the branches and logs pressed down by the wet fresh snow.
Another powder day tomorrow for sure...
