It's getting so slow - sun & powder for St. Nicholas Day
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Between 2 and 3 stars. The fresh snow has settled and in the high forest it is now slowly getting better, but caution is still advised.the high elevations upwind look very blown off, I wouldn't do anything here for that reason alone.below 1000m you can only slide down into the valley on favorable meadows or along paths.
Snow quality
Really good in the shade and without wind influence. In the sun and especially in the wind, it didn't look quite as good, but I wasn't really.
Risks
The LLB speaks for itself: watch out for drift snow above the tree line. There were also many snow flags to be seen along the high summit ridges. A few smaller and a handful of medium-sized chutes could be seen on exposed, steep south-facing slopes.
Overall impression
Beautiful afternoon with great photo light and really good snow.
Unfortunately only a short, good downhill section, because there was a long forest road at the bottom. I gave the upper summit slope a miss because it was a bit too tricky for me, but a whole group skied it...
All in all, it's getting there, but the high altitudes will take a while yet. I'm looking forward to the weekend!
