Snow report Salzburger Land North, 12/19/2016

Today on touring skis in Gaissau (Spielberg), if you know where the stones are you can do something. But if it stays this warm for another 2 days, nothing will work...

How could it be otherwise: The snow conditions are poor. There's 15cm at the bottom, 20, maximum 25cm at the top. However, it is possible to ski down to the car in Gaissau and as there are no stones on the Wiesn anyway, I even got down without touching any stones.

The tour was sunny and it was quite warm at the top, so it was fluffy spring snow. At the bottom it was already shady on the descent and a light crust had formed.

Risks

Definitely too little snow to be able to report on the avalanche situation

Cool people + porn weather + a bit of snow = a successful afternoon. Once again, it was really nice to go up somewhere without a lift and, above all, to ride down again.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
