Snow report Salzburger Land North, 12/27/2018
Sun top - snow (quantity) flop
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Really bitter. You can't really do anything in the lower and middle altitudes. Above 1200-1300m, a few turns are possible in open terrain. Some of the higher areas with gentle terrain around the Jenner are already being done.
Snow quality
Quite good. In the shade, the top layers are nice and powdery, the rain crust sometimes comes through. The sun is surprisingly strong, so it quickly becomes slow and sticky.
Risks
I've only been up to 1400m, but you'll probably have to be careful above that because of the heavy loads.
Overall impression
There were already a few nice turns in the upper altitude meters, but we urgently needed more!
The weather is of course fantastic and the slopes are accordingly busy everywhere.
