Variations of snow cover

Ski tour in the Granatspitz group. The snow conditions here also leave a lot to be desired. Due to the high starting point, it is still easy to ski down to the car. In the alpine terrain, many stones are not yet well snowed in, so you should be particularly careful near the crest.

Powder snow
Wind drifted snow

In our cirque we found wonderfully settled powder snow.

Wind drifted snow

North North-Eas

Intensity: low

Altitude: 2600 m – 2700 m

Risks

Crevasse or fall danger

Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)

In the very steep, sunny, rocky terrain, there were occasional spindrifts. However, this is more important for ice climbers. Otherwise, poorly snow-covered stones/rocks continue to pose a danger. The amount of drift snow on our tour today was very limited.

Overall impression

3 von 5 Sterne
Worse

A good day's touring with good snow on the descent. With the brisk wind on Sunday, the conditions will deteriorate.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!

Thank you for your contribution to the PowderGuide project!
