Snow condition

very little snow at lower altitudes (1300-1600m), especially in the denser forest. Above that, good conditions. The wind has of course left its mark (blown-off ridges).

Snow quality

2-3* depending on how well you have chosen your track, very abruptly changing conditions from crusty tops to fluffy snow, unfortunately the transitions were very difficult to recognize and noticeable from one turn to the next. The surface crusts were sometimes very stable, about 1 cm thick, underneath the fresh snow of the week, which lies on a hard cap. It was fun, but sometimes it was difficult to ride.

Risks

We stayed below 2200m, W-N-O cornices present, snow pressed by the wind (track remains standing) and cracking. The forecast was 2s over 2000 3s, it was fine.

Nice tour, bright blue sky, no wind -> fantastic conditions to enjoy the summit. However, a lot going on and there could have been more snow!

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
