Sufficient snow up to the parking lot (1500m). There are sharks under the fresh snow in exposed places. Good snow conditions from Rudolfshütte onwards. Everything is well covered with snow, except for exposed areas (2-3*). At the parking lot in the morning about 15cm of fresh snow, which was gone again in the afternoon. Further up, an average of 30cm+, sometimes even more on the glacier. You couldn't even feel the hard ground at the top.
Snow quality
I've been up here several times and have always had very good conditions in the past. But today was exceptionally good because there was virtually no wind. Super cold blower that you could ride really fast.
Risks
Pretty relaxed. Loose snow slides from steep areas, and there was also a lot on the sunny side. Otherwise hardly any danger spots and the binding to the hard ground was ok.
Overall impression
The 5* is subjective, but it has to be today. I've never had such a perfect day up here. A breath of wind, bright blue, and a manageable crowd thanks to the inactive gondola. In the midst of fantastic scenery.
