Overall impression
Snow condition
Much better than in the north, but not good in many areas. However, you can still do some things from the valley without carrying, if it's not in the dense forest or on the south side. Everything looks pretty good from a certain altitude, especially on the east side, where a lot has happened in the last few days. A total of around 20-25cm fresh and the winter feeling is cool (if you're not in the sun).
Snow quality
Rather naja: In the high altitudes (N-NW) partly quite blown, hard or wind-influenced.everything that is below 2000m and on the sunny side is already heavily caked in the late morning and often slow.super: Shady areas between 1500 and 1900m. Really cool to ski, no old snow cover noticeable underneath!
Risks
The 3 for the Niedere Tauern spoke a very clear language today. We therefore changed our plans early on and played it safe. Considerable amounts were transported, but we couldn't see any releases or tensions in our areas. On steep sunny sides you should watch out for the strong spring sun.
Overall impression
Very nice day in a fantastic setting, fine snow in places and great views.
Unfortunately, too much and too strong sun in the lower areas. A little earlier would have been even better.
Despite the large number of people, we got a good shot.
On closer inspection, however, the touring options were limited due to the avalanche situation in the high mountains.
