Early in the morning, we were able to set off on skis directly from the parking lot at around 1600 m. There was about 10 cm of wet fresh snow there. When we returned around midday, some of this fresh snow had already disappeared and we had to walk a few minutes to the car. As the altitude increased, the snow conditions also improved, so that we no longer had any major problems from around 1800 m upwards. Above 2000 m, there was an average of 20 cm to 25 cm of fresh snow, which was already well settled. We were mainly in the northern sector. We were in this area last winter in May and there was much more snow!

Surprisingly good! We chose our descent in sheltered terrain and were rewarded with beautiful set powder. Towards midday, the snow below 1900 m became wetter and heavier. All in all, the set powder snow clearly dominated.

Risks

Quite relaxed on our moderate tour. Around midday, the avalanche activity started with loose snow avalanches from steep, rocky terrain. Sleet was also present during the last snowfall. In the summit regions, you could see clear traces of wind, i.e. snow was being transported. Pay attention to the course of the day, i.e. start early and finish the tour early. Don't forget the problem of old snow.

Beautiful day of touring! The weather was also very good for the descent and we were able to enjoy the descent.
