Snow condition
Descents are still possible on the north side up to approx. 1500 m without any problems. It looks worse in the sunny exposures. In general, I don't think the current snow conditions are particularly good in this area. High alpine it looks quite solid.
Snow quality
A few centimetres of fresh snow fell last night. Some of this lies on a compact base. From approx. 2600 cm, there is still a very settled powder snow. In some places, a thin layer of harsh snow has formed. However, this is so thin that it hardly disturbs skiing. It still takes a while for classic firn conditions at these altitudes.
Risks
Hardly any load-bearing snow cover has formed due to the lack of radiation last night. The day's progress was therefore faster today. Some large slopes are already unloaded. Temperatures were still cold from about 2500 m (no pronounced diurnal progression) and the snowpack appeared very stable in a NW exposure. Clear nights will stabilize the snowpack.
Overall impression
Nice day after the clouds cleared quickly. We were completely alone on our tour and were rewarded with a few nice turns.
The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.
Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
