Snow report Salzburger Land Süd, 04/20/2019
Great day with mixed snow and giant slopes in the Granatspitz group
Snow condition

Overall impression
Snow condition
Hardly anything below 1200m, but still very good at the top in some areas, and above 2000m the sunny sides are also quite good. If it doesn't get too hot, then the Hohe Tauern will still have something going for longer this year.2.5*
Snow quality
At the very top there was still a little powder with a light cap, then a mix of great firn (sun) and very hard (shade). Departure around 12:30 p.m. It was quite good, could have been later for us. Partly it's also quite influenced by avalanches and wind and at the bottom it's tough swamp.
Risks
Very dependent on the time of day and, above all, on the exposure; hardly enough warming on the shady (or less sunny) side for strong destabilization of the snowpack, but steep sunny sides should be kept in mind, especially further down, if it has not yet gone down.
Overall impression
Great day in the best company in the Granatspitz group. There were probably 100 people on the Sonnblick, there were significantly fewer on our neighboring summit and nobody (!) but us did the big north descent(s).
Great photo conditions and an impressive ambience.
