Snow condition
Not much. But considering how bad the season was, it's ok anyway. Even outside the glaciers, it started here from 1800m with appealing snow remains, but actually there's not much left below 2000 on the shaded side. You need protected cirques, gullies and hollows.
Snow quality
If you ignore the absolute crests with rock-hard, blown ice crusts (I was only there for a very short time), then it's really great: above 2500m there's about 10 cm of dry powder. And even below that, the 2-cm powder layer on summer firn is super slushy.
Risks
Due to the extreme storm on the summits, there were certainly a few drifts, but on the other hand it will soon be warm again, it hasn't snowed that much and there isn't much left overall, so watch out for newly covered sharks!
Overall impression
Hmm well, the plan seemed to work out at first: Slight clearing in the morning and later the sun even came out briefly.
But then a relatively sudden switch to the whiteroom and a hurricane near the ridge.
Unfortunately, the coolest part of the descent was just poking around, but it was fine snow at the bottom.
Luckily I only had to share it with two others, there were incredibly huge groups on the way from the Glocknerstraße...
