Well, you can ski down into the valley at any expo. You don't need to worry about getting through even in the lower forest areas, as further west the high areas are sometimes blown off, but there is more in the middle and lower areas.

Very changeable conditions. On the N-NE side, sometimes very wind-pressed or crushed snow. In the lower forest areas, the snow was very settled but soft and easy to ski, and on the south side, further up was clearly the better choice for skiing today (Yeah Alex). In the steep, sun-exposed areas, however, you shouldn't have waited much longer, as it was already deeply softened in places, but further down it was almost firn-like, fast and great to ski in compact snow.

Risks

The snow cover at higher elevations is strongly influenced by the wind and therefore very heterogeneous. The last drifting snow was already mostly hard or covered. On the south side, there are sometimes large base avalanches on steep, grassy summit slopes, and larger snow mouths could also be seen.very compact and stable at lower altitudes.I estimate the old snow problem here in the area as low, the summits are simply too low for that.

Beautiful tour in great weather (very warm!) and mini Conditionsreporter Meeting Salzburger Land... Afterwards a beer in the sun...Life's good.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
