Powder(s) in Madesimo
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
The snow conditions vary considerably from the valley to the summit. Up to the tree line, it is approx. 1.5 m very homogeneous. Above that it varies greatly and sharks are an issue. There was about 15-20 cm of fresh snow overnight.
Snow quality
Very variable. Wind-protected fluffy fresh powder. Wind-worked snow is partly very good and partly moderate. Widespread wind influence above the tree line.
Risks
Critical in rarely traveled terrain. There are clear signs of wind, especially above the tree line.
Overall impression
Nice little village in Lombardy on the border with Switzerland. The ski area is manageable. The südstau has unfortunately not dumped so much here. It's quite busy for Friday. In the evening, everything within easy reach was covered in snow. Due to the heli-skiing possibilities, great ski tour destinations were also covered very early on. (Can't download the camera photos, so only a few cell phone pictures)
