Italo-Powder 35 cm and more ...
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Excellent up to 2,200 m. There is enough snow in all exposures to be able to ski down into the valley. Below 1,400 m it quickly becomes poor.
Snow quality
In the morning it was the finest powder which was really fun. Towards midday it became much more difficult below 1900 m. A great result for mid-March.
Risks
Tense. There was a dangerous amount of fresh snow. Fortunately, there was no wind. Warning level 3 was issued in the region with an increase over the course of the day. The risk of slipping increased due to the daytime warming.
Overall impression
Hammer day. It snowed heavily again overnight and there was a refresh of around 25 cm in the morning. In total, almost 40-50 cm of fresh snow must have fallen in the last 4 days. We had 2 perfect powder days on the south side of the Alps.
