Ski tour in the Schalder valley
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Since the last snowfalls also skiable in the forest, above 2200m strongly blown off ridges, partly covered by a thin layer of fresh snow.
Snow quality
Quite easy to ski in the forest, approx. 20cm of set powder on a soft "base" above the tree line in sun-exposed terrain with snow cover, partly powdery on shady slopes.
Risks
Relatively relaxed despite the three-pointer. Above the tree line, caution is advised on steep slopes with heavy snowfall. A sharp rise in temperature has been announced for tomorrow, so be careful!
Overall impression
Below-average snow for mid-February, but at least you can do most tours now. Without replenishment, a short season is in prospect here too.
