Snow condition
There is enough snow to ski without the handbrake, at least above 2000 meters. In the steep gullies and on the south side, however, nothing works yet. That's why it stays at two stars. There's much less snow on the backs, where the wind has worked noticeably. Close to the ridge it is partly completely blown off.
Snow quality
Fun racepow. You can feel the higher temperatures: the snow has more moisture than last time. But it's still really fun in the northern sector. We found good (but very tricky) drift snow in all the exposures we skied (the entire northern sector)
Wind drifted snow
Intensity: medium
Above: 2100 m
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
Even though it "only" has a 2, the situation is quite tricky due to the weak old snow and the pronounced board. We heard several booming noises and saw cracks forming and were happy with our very defensive route choice. A medium-sized slab from the last few days was visible and we triggered one ourselves remotely, which only came to a halt after about 300m in the very steep terrain.
Avalanche activity
Dry slab avalanche (small)
Altitude: 2300 m
Overall impression
Today proved once again that you can have a lot of fun even below 35°. A nice crew, good snow and sun on your face make for a good day.
