Snow condition
After the last dump, everything in the rear Surselva is well filled and promises excellent conditions for the next few weeks. Be it firn or as a basis for the next powder. On Saturday, an unexpected 10cm in the village, which must have accumulated over 30cm in Val Strem.
Snow quality
On the north side, the snow is still in its best form. Friday SpeedExpressSnow. Fine ProseccoPow yesterday and wind press today. Everything that gets proper sun in the morning and evening turns into an unsightly cap. Today some of the snow was blown away, which was good to ride again in the southern expo.
Wind drifted snow
Intensity: no wind
Risks
Wind intensity: High (40 – 60 km/h)
Friday in the Disentis area, good blasting success and frightening crack edges. Especially in the expos east and west. On the south side there are some sliding snow mouths. We didn't see any avalanches triggered by skiers in the area. Today Sunday, a lot of wind on the Pazolastock, crossing in the upper part is tricky, the cornices are mighty and have also come down! Today with the strong to stormy wind, large packs formed. Saw a crack in the northwest today, with a Sahara layer underneath. The 3 is absolutely justified.
Avalanche activity
Altitude: 2100 m
Overall impression
Friday and Saturday were two world-class days in Disentis. On Friday and Saturday, there was an unexpected increase in fresh snow overnight. It snowed out of the blue sky until the afternoon. And really fine stuff. What a quality of snow and first lines all day. Short solo tour up the Pazolastock today. Arrived at the top, stood in the whiteout and skied to Tschamt. Snow is still good where the wind wasn't too strong.
