Good from Tschamut due to the dump last week. The south sides from Tschamut had no more snow before that. On the ascent, however, some vegetables came out again on the south sides below the railroad line. Overall still great for the time of year.

The first 300 vertical meters on the back and in the small hollows there nice set powder. Not super fluffy and a bit damp, but really nice and quick to ski :-) Then another 150m on the west side with quite decent snow, it was already wetter and therefore required a lot more skiing technique. Then it got wetter and more difficult with every meter, at the bottom the swamp was knee-boot deep and only skiable for us with the appropriate back position.

Risks

The ascent via Maighels Hütte was safe in our opinion. We preferred to enter the ridge before 2 p.m., as it was very wet at the bottom. Just as we were back at the Tschamut village sign, a medium-sized avalanche of wet snow came over the railroad gallery on the south side.

Snow & weather better than we all expected :-) A nice end to a successful Conditionreporter weekend! It will probably be rather difficult to find good snow in the region over the next few days. There seems to be only local powder and no firn yet. It's most likely that we'll find some far up in the shady, wind-protected steep terrain, if the avalanche situation allows it.
