Snow conditions are still very good for the time of year. On the north side you can get below 1,000m. Lots of snow at higher altitudes, glaciers very well snowed in.

A few places with quite nice firn, otherwise broken snow or swampy.

Risks

Critically, despite a clear night, the snow cover was largely unfrozen (I assume due to the influence of the foehn), making it unstable in all exposures. We hadn't correctly assessed this in our planning and therefore canceled our planned descent (north, >40°). We also felt a bit queasy on our alternative route due to the slopes above. We observed a medium-sized spontaneous snow slab from steep terrain to the south.

Better to wait for the end of the Föhn and a few clear nights. Then beautiful tours will still be possible for a long time.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!

Thank you for your contribution to the PowderGuide project!
