Variations of snow cover

Relatively good snow conditions on the north side of the Grieskogel group. Depending on the surface, there are still a few rocks lurking, but even steeper, rocky gullies are quite good. Of course, it is still advisable to stay in the gullies and not ski the ridges. There is also an acceptable base in the forest on the north side.

Snow quality

Hard, pressed snow
Powder snow

Somewhat variable snow quality. Almost exclusively powdery and easy to ski, a little windswept in places. The fresh snow has already settled considerably. Sink depth not too high, but also little sluff and good for steeper terrain.

Risks

Old snow problem

Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)

The old snow problem is still present, although the readiness to release has already decreased significantly. Some cracks can still be seen. Tracked terrain and lines with a previously hard-packed snow surface are better, but also require knowledge.

Equal

Found a very nice gully in good snow. The scramble to the summit was also at a pleasant level of difficulty. The weather was fantastic with absolutely no wind at the summit. Dream day!

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
