Hard, pressed snow

Powder snow
Wind drifted snow

I'm always very strict when it comes to snow quality. Today there was an almost complete menu: Loose, dry snow (fresh snow from Saturday and a little from yesterday), some bound but soft snow, loose snow that had become damp and the beginnings of firn at the very bottom.

Wind drifted snow

North North-West

Intensity: medium

Altitude: 2600 m – 2800 m

Risks

Fresh avalanches
Diurnal warming
South

Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)

From midday there were wet loose snow slides/avalanches from very steep southeast-facing terrain.

Avalanche activity

South-East

Wet loose snow avalanche (small)

Altitude: 2800 m

Worse

We actually caught the perfect window of good weather today: classic Silvretta tour - Kromerscharte from Vermuntstausee. Super weather with sunshine and little wind on the north side, hardly any people and still a lot of untracked snow. Snow mostly very nice and easy to ski (above 2200 m still dry throughout, below that between damp and loose and firny). Best ski tour this year (and despite the "difficult" winter, I've surprisingly already had some good ones this year).

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
