Overall impression
We started our ski touring days in the Silvretta (Bielerhöhe/Madlenerhaus base camp) last Wednesday without any great expectations. It was to be expected that the long period of fine weather would have affected the downhill qualities too much. Fortunately, this was not the case and our expectations were more than exceeded. The first descent (Bieltralrunde) already offered solid 3-star quality with approx. 5 cm of fresh snow. The descent on Friday from the Schneeglocke in glorious weather was clearly my best descent of the year and deserves 4 stars overall. The tour on Saturday (Seelücke) was then - in increasingly bad weather - a nice way to round off our Silvretta days. Thanks to the fresh snow on Sunday (around 20cm of fine powder on the Bielerhöhe!), the next few days should promise good skiing fun.
