Snow report Sölden, Ötztal, 11/11/2017
Strong wind in Sölden

Snow condition
Not bad at all for the beginning of November compared to the last few years. The first lifts and pistes in the winter ski area have already opened, but only on the Gigijoch side. From the Gigijoch summit station onwards, there is a continuous blanket of snow. However, there is not much snow in some places, as the wind over the last few days has blown a lot of snow away.
Snow quality
Partly nice loose powder snow, sometimes quite heavy drift snow.
Risks
Couldn't see any fresh snow, but due to the fresh snow last week and the strong wind, you should definitely watch out for drift snow. Many smaller crevasses are now at least visually snowed in, so be careful here.
Overall impression
For November in Sölden it's really okay, the last few years we only had snow like this at the end of December.
