Snow condition

Snow conditions above the Martin-Busch-Hütte and on our route are already very good, as it is north-facing. On the sunnier slopes, it looks leaner. Lots of snow on the glaciers. I couldn't find any open crevasses on the Niederjochferner. The descent to Vent is just about possible if you pay attention.

Snow quality

4 von 5 Sterne

Really good. Powder all the way down to Vent. There about 15cm of fresh snow on nothing. Further up certainly 30-40cm. The last 300m to the summit quite rough, below that flawless...

Risks

Not to be underestimated. The wind was quite strong in places. Even if in this area it was only high alpine. I couldn't discover any snow planks.

Overall impression

3 von 5 Sterne

I was very positively surprised by the snow quality and weather. Nevertheless, only 3 stars, as the choice of tours is still quite limited due to the snow conditions. I had also imagined the valley to be a little shorter. With a 1700m ascent, only having an 800m descent and skiing the rest straight ahead in the ascent track is not everyone's cup of tea!

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
