Snow condition

See the day before yesterday: Relatively little snow in comparison to other years, but currently absolutely enough. We started today at approx. 500 meters, all variants were possible without any problems due to the snow conditions.

Really good and unexpectedly so. We went up the south side, which was frozen hard, but we didn't even need crampons despite the steepness of up to 35 degrees. Descent then via the east side, some slopes were north-facing. 15-20 cm of great powder, in contrast to yesterday hardly any wind influence. At the bottom there was a direct transition from super powder to super firn.

Risks

Much better than yesterday! There were still a few pockets on the south side that could have been triggered under certain circumstances. Otherwise pretty stress-free, we were back at the parking lot at 12 and therefore had no problems with warming up. Some steep slopes still look dangerous with the drift snow, and the tour is only a few kilometers away as the crow flies from yesterday's really unstable snow cover. As I said, the whole thing is very local.

Wow! It doesn't get much better than great weather, bomb scenery and over 1000m of first lines in super terrain & snow.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
