Overall impression
Snow condition
I'm a little unsure here. There is about one meter set in the valley. But the top is teeming with sharks (see photo). I suspect that it is mainly the blown-in northern slopes where these otherwise easily recognizable stones could hide so well. However, some of the standard routes (e.g. to Pic Corvatsch) are hardly accessible at high altitudes because they have been massively fended off. The further south, the more snow there tends to be, but the eastern and southern slopes have less. (Understandable?)
Snow quality
Mostly very good. Powder in all facets: set flitze-pillowpow in the forest, conserved bottomless 5-star coldsmoke in the NW-north slopes and otherwise cold cruiserpow covered with ripe, somewhat dull cruiserpow.
Risks
SLF gives a three that becomes a two in the area to the north of Corvatsch. This can also be seen locally. In the south there is more snow and more has been transported. On the north-north side below the summit of Piz Murtel, you can see the snow that has been transported, which is only slowly starting to coalesce due to the low temperatures. On the north side, most of the drift snow is trickling out of the high steep slopes and spontaneously falling off in "loose snow slides".
Overall impression
3-4 It was a successful day's skiing, but perhaps a little too material-intensive. Somehow you always had to follow the light or the view and bit by bit you found one or two ice-cold pieces of cream for cruising.
The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.
Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
