There is not much evidence of the recent snowfall here. As soon as you're off-piste, contact with the enemy is almost inevitable. (to be fair: we were only out and about in the St. Moritz area today, unfortunately I can't give any information about Corvatsch)

Wind-pressed lid, acute snow deficit - it's a joy. I don't think you need to say any more.

Risks

The problem of old snow that is propagated everywhere is clearly evident here. At a depth of 10 to 20 cm, there is an acute weak layer that leads to extensive crack propagation under moderate load. The comparison with a mine is probably apt here: if you search, you will find - if you step on it, you will disappear. We soon returned to the slopes as the situation was simply too precarious for us.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
