The snow conditions are good, pretty much everything is skiable, but there is the occasional rock.

Last week Wed/Thu about 30-40 cm of fluffy fresh snow on Corvatsch, then wind from Friday but still good to ski. Since yesterday (SA) then warm temperatures and today in Pontresina +5 with light rain. I wasn't on the mountain today but with strong winds and warm temperatures, the snow quality certainly suffers.

Risks

The last few weeks have been characterized by strong temperature differences. First the cold spell (lowest value -27 in St. Moritz) followed immediately by around 20-30 cm at -5. Then a short dry spell until last Wednesday and then snowfall at around -10 on the mountain, followed by significantly warmer temperatures again. The wind was always blowing from different directions. This week in particular I could see several small to medium-sized boards, not huge cracks (maximum 20-30cm) but enough to hurt yourself. To put it plainly: a massive weak layer has formed in the snowpack due to the temperature difference 2 weeks ago, wind and warmer temperatures are now doing the rest. I can't say exactly how the situation will develop over the next few days. But anyone who is out and about in the terrain should definitely keep this in mind.

All in all, the last week in particular was once again really good to ride. Thu/Fri fluffy powder at Bluebird and guests who can also keep up in the terrain, so working is fun ;-)

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
