Snow report St. Moritz / Engadine, 12/01/2016

The green hell of Piz Palü - we weren't at Palü but in St. Moritz - but the green hell of St. Moritz just doesn't sound as good

I wasn't quite sure whether I wouldn't have preferred to put on my flip-flops - only the pitiful remnants of artificial snow convinced me that it had been winter since yesterday. No, the few slopes that are open consist of 90 % artificial snow. Nonetheless, it's quite ok to ski on them. No problems with botany or marmots. But just a piste.....

What's left is artificial snow - I don't think you need to say any more. Locals rumor in dark alleyways that there is still a small nest of natural snow on Corvatsch that offers resistance to the artificial snow.

Risks

Today I was rather afraid of being run over by the pre-après skiers practicing their plows. Apart from that, there are a few areas where the wind has deposited a lot (but these are easy to recognize - white spot on a green base)

This winter that everyone is talking about will work out one day......

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
