Snow condition

The snow conditions here are still very poor for this time of year. I drove over the Julier Pass yesterday and was slightly shocked. You could hike in sneakers on the south side. (see photo). It's white on the north side, but it's still not good enough for sensible touring. This situation is also reflected in the Engadin: on the Corviglia there are a few white streaks, no chance of freeriding, on the Corvatsch there is at least a bit of snow and some of it has already been skied (see previous CR by Kartoffelstampfer). But with today's visibility, I wasn't really motivated to slide around somewhere between stones. On the north side from 2200m there is at least something that can be described as a base.

Few pockets with settled powder, approx. 5 cm of fresh snow for the optics mostly on hard stuff.

Risks

Certainly not (yet) a big problem these days because there is simply not enough. But with the expected dump, the whole thing will come to a head...

Mainly out in the fresh air. Of course I can see that Kartoffelstampfer had a great day, but as far as the snow conditions and quality are concerned, I have to say (especially because I know what it might look like) that it wasn't really appealing.
Well, if the weather forecast delivers what it promises, there might be a few more stars next week ;-)

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
