It's getting there, the maximum snow depth in the Geltscherhöhe is slowly building up. However, it's definitely below average and you have to watch out for sharks, especially in the windswept and south-facing slopes. Skis also took a beating today...

Wind drifted snow

Very nice fresh snow of the powdery variety, in places already a little settled. Very wet and heavy on eastern and southern slopes from midday. Should hold up well on north-facing slopes above 2100.

Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)

I didn't see many avalanches for a 3-pointer and the blasting success in the area was moderate. However, there was some loose snow coming off the sunny slopes and you should still watch out for drift snow, as the south wind picked up a bit from midday.

Nice day on the glacier: almost all known variants are rideable and were also completely ridden. We had some nice runs, the next few days you can certainly find something nice with skins in the northern sector. On the south side, you can certainly expect a lid from tomorrow.
