Overall impression

Yesterday we were skiing powder on the south side of the Stubai Glacier under the cloud cover. This suggested to me that the northern flank of the Schaufelspitze could still be good today. Chevchelio's beautiful tracks and CR provided additional motivation. However, I probably underestimated the sunlight. Hop turns at the start on hard ground slipped by previous climbers were definitely adrenaline-pumping. In the open part of the flank, hard snow alternated with a crumbly and brittle top. The snow was only relatively easy to ski for a short time in the shadow of skiers far to the right. There was powder with a hint of a crust. All in all, not unrideable but demanding concentration. I was down at 9:40. It might have been softer and better later on... Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Nevertheless, the line and the view at the top are beautiful.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
