Snow condition
Many stones in the terrain. Stone-free descent only possible in selected hollows.
Snow quality
Powder snow. Quite deep in places. In the hollows approx. 25 cm. Ridge rather poor in snow.
Risks
Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)
Snow-covered rocks are currently the main danger. Variant avalanches are not really possible without local knowledge and without ruining your skis. There is no avalanche report out yet. You can take a look at the observations from the LWD Tirol blog and draw your own conclusions with the fresh snow and wind.
Overall impression
A short walk away from the pistes in the Stubai glacier ski area in modest visibility. The snow was pleasantly fluffy due to the -16 but larger runs certainly need a large base before things really get going. Nevertheless, a nice off-piste excursion and the slopes are also pleasantly grippy.
