Variations of snow cover

The snow conditions are very good. You can get down into the valley everywhere without any problems. The only thing to watch out for are blown-off ridges, where many stones lurk.

Snow quality

Hard, pressed snow
Breakable crust
Powder snow
Wind drifted snow

The snow quality is very changeable. Above 2,000 m, a wind cover has formed, which is very difficult to ski on. In some places, beautiful spots alternate with the cover or with drift snow. Below 2,000 m, the snow quality is good with little wind influence.

Risks

North North-West

Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)

The danger currently comes mainly from drift snow. However, the packs are easily recognizable and in some cases quite small-scale. Of particular interest for the coming snowfall will be the currently well-developed surface frost, which is present on the shaded side at all altitudes.

Worse

Nice day in the Pinnistal. We had a look at a gully, but unfortunately it is not passable. Still a good day with good snow. It certainly won't get any better with the coming wind, unfortunately.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
