Snow condition

Tremendous! At the Schlicker alm (1600) it's 1.5 meters. In the woods above it was more than 2 meters. I couldn't see any areas that were really blown away, and apparently it was enough to "bomb" without pain. :D

Snow quality

3 von 5 Sterne

Between 2 and 4 stars. On the sunny side from midday, below 1600 and on some slopes above the tree line 2 stars, due to wetness, rain or wind cover. On most of the shady slopes in the forest, it was still a fluffy 4*! As it was the first day after the snowfall at the weekend that the area was open, it was slightly settled pow. Amount: (between 30cm and 50 cm)

Risks

Dangerous from midday onwards on the sunny side. We didn't get to the drift snow at higher altitudes. But we were able to see a lot of crack edges on the Kalkkögeln.

Overall impression

4 von 5 Sterne

A shady area was a wise choice today. Quite few people and lots of opportunities in the forest due to the huge amounts of snow.
Hopefully there will be a few firn tours in the next few days. :)
