Snow condition

Descent to the valley possible in different variants. Nevertheless, it is not enough for more than 3 stars, as rock contact can hardly be avoided in many standard variants. The amount of fresh snow is surprisingly large. In some places you get the feeling that there is more than 40cm. But in the upper area (higher than 2400m) I would say 25-30cm.

Snow quality

Unbelievably good in parts. Really good in all exposures. The snow seems to have fallen without much wind influence. So cold (-10 at Glescher in the morning) and fluffy, just the way you like it! I can't give it 5 stars because with the influence of the sun, the quality deteriorated considerably during the day. Could be significantly worse tomorrow in non-north exposures!

Generally according to LLB2. However, the Stubai Glacier borders on a region in the 3 galt. There were a few loose snow avalanches, but no snow slabs. I only had the feeling on one slope with a lot of sunlight that the freshly fallen 30cm could slide. 2-3 is therefore justified.

Overall impression

Really good day, unfortunately only good visibility above 2500m, fog below. The snow was awesome, but the constant contact with rocks takes the joy out of even the best snow. We can only hope that there will be more soon so that there might be some base for a few good dumps in March.
