the ascent to the hut can easily be made in hiking boots. from the hut you can set off on skis without any problems. the sunny side of the valley is completely open here. where there is snow, skiing is usually possible without stone contact.

Snow quality

crispy harsch cover from the hut. pleasant to walk in the steep part. 1 hour wait at the summit (east lakespitze) and descent at 10:00. summit slope perfect, afterwards still quite hard. in the valley floor you don't break through yet.

Risks

everything should be down at the hut access. maybe one or the other cornice. otherwise everything was very safe for us today due to the massive cover. even in the afternoon you couldn't see a slide.

Overall impression

3 von 5 Sterne

overnight stay in the extremely luxurious winter room of the franz senn hut and the best touring conditions. not a soul in the whole area. what more could you want at the beginning of may?
