Snow condition
Continuous snow from 2200m in the Grünausee valley, a few more snow fields below the Sulzenauhütte up to 2100m. In the flat summer snow up to 2300m, after that I had only been on the steeper north side, not yet completely converted.
Snow quality
Above 2700m, 2-5cm of fresh snow on a compact base, which was still nice and powdery on the descent at 9am. Further down, firn-like snow that turns into summer snow.
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
Overall impression
Typical spring tour with a long stretch on skis until you can finally switch to skins at 2200m. The glaciers were snowed in better than ever, no crevasses visible. Getting up early was rewarded with a bit of powder on a compact base, very easy to ski.
The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.
Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
