Well, there isn't really any snow yet. Outside the glaciers there is practically nothing, on the glaciers the ice is (mostly) covered by a few centimetres of snow.
Snow quality
Rather hard, you feel a bit like you're scraping ice.
Risks
There is probably still too little snow for avalanches, but crevasses are wide open after the warm summer, so it will be a while before you can ski properly off-piste on the glacier.
Overall impression
Could be worse at the beginning of October (like last year, for example), but also better.
It's only worth it if it snows heavily at least once more.
